Vintage Casa, a family-owned company in Genoa, Italy, is making its debut in the US through L'accento Italiano. Since its founding in the ’90s by talented Italian textile Designer Roberto Bianchini, Vintage Casa seeks out interesting textiles like hand-painted silk kimonos and hand-embroidered throws.

Today, Vintage Casa still travels the globe in search of traditional textiles and updates them for modern style; once a year Roberto Bianchini creates a new collection based on a particular historic textile theme. 2006 Collection of Damask curtains and cushions was inspired by the Italian Renaissance textiles, 2008 Collection’s theme was Suzani.

This year the spotlight is on the nearly extinct art of IKAT weaving. In addition to the IKAT weaves, the 2009 collection features some antique textile reproductions. Some fabric designs are classic in their beauty, for their style does not fall into any modern fashion category or trend. An unmatched centuries old workmanship of the Italian weaving mills captures the flair of the dream-like fabric reproductions.

Roberto Bianchini is passionate about studying different textile techniques and educating his customers. He searches the Globe for top quality materials - best linen from Russia, vegetable dies from a tiny village at the Coromandel Coast in India. Roberto draws his inspiration from the antique markets of London and Paris, where he often finds rare jewels - unique old pieces of fabric that he masterfully reproduces. His biggest success to date was a reproduction of a bed cover found in a shop in Venice.

Vintage Casa enjoys a wide success in Europe and other countries starting from its very first collections. Currently, the company participates in all major Textile, Interior Design and Home Shows in Italy (Milan, Florence, Rome, Veronaas well as overseas (Tokyo).
